Attend Creek Fest: Enjoy Music and Help Cancer Patients!
Annual Cherokee Creek Fest supports Cancer Center
Lovers of music and the outdoors are invited to attend Creek Fest 2012 in Cherokee, Iowa.
Camping, live music, food, swimming, volleyball, nature walk and more are in store for July 20-22 in rural Cherokee.
“This year we’re gearing up for a “better than ever” festival,” said Kurt Rasmus, one of the event organizers. “We’re donating a portion of the proceeds to the June E. Nylen Cancer Center, as well. Many of our Cherokee residents have used the services of the Cancer Center. Bring the family and enjoy a fun weekend.”
Friday night’s bands include Soggy River Bottom Boys and The Rude Band; Short Notice, Fork in the Road and Arch Allies play Saturday night and Wave Length, Riata and The Innocense bands entertain Sunday night. Guests are invited to bring their motorcycles for a Saturday morning ride starting at 11 a.m. There will also be a cancer walk Saturday morning at 9 a.m. The Saturday afternoon mud volleyball starts at 1 p.m.
“Donations to the Cancer Center will help cancer patients with financial assistance, transportation, prescription assistance, housing, food, clothing and other items they need while struggling with a cancer diagnosis,” says Pat Hubbard, Nylen Cancer Center Director of Fund Development.
