Trilogy and PET/CT

The June E. Nylen Cancer Center provides many state-of-the-art technologies, including Trilogy, 3D Treatment Planning, External Beam Radiation Therapy, Intensity Modulating Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), On-Board Imaging (OBI), and Brachytherapy.

These therapies represent the latest generation of power, precision and versatility in radiation cancer care, which means fewer side effects, faster recovery times and longer, healthier lives.

Trilogy

Trilogy is one of the most advanced technologies available for the treatment of cancer today, equipped with an On-Board Imager, which helps pinpoint tumors to specifically target radiation to the tumor and protect surrounding tissue.

Trilogy offers the ability to treat smaller cancers earlier with the potential for higher cure rates, reducing the need for invasive procedures.

Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)

Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) is now available with the addition of Trilogy and the On-Board Imaging. SRS allows tumors to be destroyed without surgery – “Surgery without a Scapel”.

Radiosurgery is a radiation delivery procedure that precisely delivers large radiation doses to tumors and other relevant anatomical targets in a single session or in a series of sessions (typically up to five). The goal of this non-invasive procedure is to destroy, or render inactive, the target anatomy without harming healthy tissue and without involving traditional surgery, and avoiding anesthesia.
