Cancer Center Announces Co-Chairs for the Winter Benefit
Register for the Winter Benefit today.
Dr. and Mrs. Greg Naden and Dr. Sudarshan Doddabele and Latha Raghavan will serve as honorary co-chairs for the 15th annual June E. Nylen Cancer Center Winter Benefit, to be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Marina Inn, South Sioux City, Nebraska.
The Winter Benefit is the signature fundraising event for the Cancer Center, raising $189,000 last year. It carries a new theme -- “Cupcakes & Snowflakes."“Drs. Naden and Doddabele along with their wives bring with them many talents which include a passion for volunteering and raising money that helps cancer patients,” says Pat Hubbard, director of fund development. This year's event features a live and silent auction and a beer and wine tasting with the option of purchasing a commemorative beer stein or wine glass to refill the entire evening with various beers and wines. Social hour begins at 6:00 p.m. with dinner at 7:30 p.m.Funds raised from this year’s benefit will help support new radiation technology. Proceeds will purchase immobilization equipment for Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) with Trilogy, to radiate tumors that have previously been untreatable. This new technology reduces the number of radiation treatments a patient requires while yielding very high cure rates.Corporate sponsors are being sought to help support the event.
