June E. Nylen Cancer Center Becoming A Hospital Outpatient Department of UnityPoint Health - St. Luke's
On November 17, the June E. Nylen Cancer Center (JENCC) will become a hospital outpatient department of UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s. You will notice changes to our signage, patient medical record system and portal we use, as well as different billing statements. However, our dedicated providers and staff, current services and location remain the same.
The JENCC was founded in 1995 as a free-standing cancer center that was jointly owned by both Sioux City hospitals. As a result of UnityPoint Health – Sioux City acquiring MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center in September, JENCC is now solely owned by UnityPoint Health. Our new name and logo after November 17 will be:
Patients and donors were mailed a letter that explains in more details what this transition means for them. Our providers and team members and many others at UnityPoint Health are working hard to make this transition as seamless as possible. Treatments and any scheduled appointments will not be disrupted with this change.
